Chateau Ste Gemme 2010, Haut Medoc.jpg

Fruity, Supple, Pleasure. Chateau Ste. Gemme (meaning 'gem') is indeed THE gem of Haut Medoc. Bordered to the North by Château Beychevelle, to the East by the Girond River, to the South by Ducru Beaucaillou's vineyards and to the West by Château Lachesnaye, this wine uses of grape varieties(50% cab and 50% Merlot) and the type of soils(Gravel and limestone) produce a fruity, elegant wine, rounder than it big brother Château Lanessan at a fraction of the cost. From the legendary vintage 2010, Chateau Ste. Gemme drinks well now and will improve over 3 to 5 years timeframe. DD90, Pleasurable Score 92, Value Score 93. Tasted December 2014.
