Chateau Cantemerle 2006, Haut Medoc 5th Growth

Full-spectrum nose through dark fruits, menthol, spices, cocoa, tobacco and meaty tones. Never heavy and jammy, the Cantemerle 2006 shows structure, elegance and complexity through balanced use of Cabernet (40%), Merlot (40%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Petit Verdot (5%) and used oak. This is a very natural wine to Team. Just keep calm and drink on.

Rounded over time, this sleeper vintage had shed its austere tannins, and given the structure, is now performing even better the fatter vintage 2005. Tagged with humble scores of RP90 and ST89 in 2009, this wine in our view should have been awarded at least a 92 or a 93, and thus it offers great value.
