2016 EP d’Escurac, CB Medoc

Deep ruby, tight rim. Ripe, black fruits (plums, and berries). Smoky. A good, modern rendition (cold fermentation at 6 Celsius for 2 weeks, micro oxygenation, vertical press, no racking) of Medoc. Ripe and natural fruit; elegant and subtle finish. Textured (tannins, wood spice).

Modern vineyard practice (machine harvest, over 50 ha/l, leaf thinning, destemming).

A reliable wine; drink short and medium term. We still remember its 1995, 1996, 2000 and 2006. Can keep for 10 years. JS92.
