White House Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Napa Valley

This White House Cellars 2009 is a classic, Napa Valley cabernet displaying bouquet of black plums, dark cherry, leather, licorice and dark chocolate. On palate, fresh and elegant blackcurrant fruit with good acidities rounded off by nice oak balance. Alcohol level is listed at13.9%, which feels not too strong though on nose and palate though. Decant in glass(or full), chill it down will help.

One out of the 6 Vivino tasters who rank this wine 5-Star, with 3 other tasters rank it 4-Star. Not bad.

With food, the versatility of this 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet brings admirable “presence” to both grilled beef and the more delicate Cantonese food. This wine facilitates tasters’ bonding because this easy to drink 2009 Cabernet is very friendly and shows lots of youthfulness with vigor.

If fruit length on palate may have been longer, this 2009 Cabernet certainly will leave an even better impression.

By now this is a perfectly aged Cabernet which May not stand up to the intense atmosphere of a White House state dinner?

This wine get us to drink like a President… on the cheap.
