Fattoria di Magliano Sinarra Sangiovese 2012

Bright, ruby red; medium deep, brick coloured rim. A hint of dry rose and violet. Intense tones of herbs, mixed dark cherries and red berries and spices. On the palate, forward red fruit with round and fine tannins. Velvety, it is a slightly warmer Sangiovese with linear acidities and rich liquorice. Very clean, with balanced fruit and savouriness.

This wine will be an excellent starter wine for any evening and a very good food wine(parma ham, Meat Ball Spaghetti, dry tomato, olives, roast pork).

I like this bottle of Sinarra Sangiovese 2012, which is s a super value with a beautiful expression of Sangiovese cultivated in the Maremma Toscana, a big boy club with members like Sassicaia and Ornellaia.

Modern vinification. Handpicked, cold soaked, low-temperature maceration, 15 days skin-contact, pump-up and punch down. Some six months in cement(so the fruit remain unsuppressed and unmasked), another six-month bottle ageing(so there is some complexity). Some 93% Sangiovese with a dash of Syrah(with modernity), certified organic and is filtered(so the tannins are fine).

From the official website, Sinarra, meaning “to tell a story,” recounts a beautiful expression of Sangiovese cultivated in the Maremma Toscana.

Magliano is in the Southern part of the prestigeous Maremma and Parkers WA comments that Magliano ," has long been one of my favorite estates" in this part of the Maremma. Magliano is located in the province of Grosetto. They employ high density planting and yields are kept to a minimum resulting in awesome richness and opulence in their wines. "

Consistent WE, RP and WS scores from 89 Points to 92 Points since Vintage 2006.

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast

"Aromas of dark berry, forest floor and Mediterranean spice lead the nose on this vibrant wine made with 100% Sangiovese. The palate offers crushed blackberry, ripe dark cherry, black pepper and savory herb, while firm but fine-grained tannins provide support."
