La Rifra Fugace Rose.

La Rifra Fugace is a rosé wine of Desenzano del Garda produced by the La Rifra winery. This rose wine is made exclusively from quality Marzemino grapes, with the traditional method of vinification(short marceration, almost white wine vinification) and ageing in the bottle for two months. The colour and nose recall some finer rose from Provence and distinguish itself from the dark versions of Australia. The nose offers what a delicate and aromatic rose can give, with a slight almond note, to serve fresh. The bottle we tasted shows vivid and high-quality cherry and strawberry fruit. On the palate, it is clean and very structured. Length is Long when one considers the humble nature of the wine. The fact that it is an NV should not imply that this is a cheap wine. Imagine a Champagne NV with is to recall the stylistics of each house. It gives pleasant surprises too as a summer drink. Production is meanly 200 to 300 cases and absorbed by the best restaurants around Lake Garda, and hence, it is rare and unique.

La Rifra is a family-run farm, present for over forty years in Pilandro in Desenzano del Garda. The company tries to exploit above all the typical wine production of the territory, and to plant and cultivate the native vines: Trebbiano di Lugana and Marzemino, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. For the cultivation of vineyards, the company does not use herbicides, works according to the methods established by European laws, and strictly adheres to the agri-environmental measure 10 for sustainability and respect for the environment.
