Masut da Rive Friulano 2016

A beautiful straw yellow colour with pronounced aromas of stone fruits(peach, apricots) and acacia blossom. Full and rounded on the palate, with lots of juicy pear and apple flavours and a touch of bitter almond.Great minerality smooth in the mouth. Very long finish like. High in fruit, well bodied.

Second nose. Dry with sambuca flowers smell, perfect acidity and perfect on the nose. Yes, it is still a simple wine on the finish; yet the fruit is layered. Weight increased on the second nose, with some richness from the 13% ABV, evident in the proper sense, and resulting in a finish delicate and harmonic, with a pleasant acidity and weight from lees and minerality.

IT is a DOC by the name of Isonzo del Friuli. Making is modern, hence the forward and unmasked style. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed and allowed to settle at 10 / 12 °C. An impression of cleanliness, despite three years in bottle. The wine aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for months, hence the texture. It is from 100% local Tocai Friulano grape, therefore the active stone fruit profile. It is the winner of 2016 Sommelier Wine Award.
