Of staw gold medium-rimed, this medium-light bodied of classic, fresh, bracing Bordeaux white with a touch of minerality of Entre Deux Mer. Interesting twist of crisp acidity, honeydew, lemon peel(adds to dimension), citric juice and kiwi. The refreshing and straightforward palate reflects the delicate balance of fruit and minerality A slight, baby-fat on the finish. Pair this one with scallops, greens, turbot or cod! Primarily with any food, Thai fishcake, Chiu Chow sliced squids, for example.
A mix of 53% Sauv Bl, 38% Sem, 10% Muscadelle intends for more complexities. Nice bottle ageing by now. No oak use point to freshness. Use of natural cork points to higher cost. Low ABV 12.4% which should show elegance. 'Reserve' points to one special and maybe better grapes, not oaked this time. Clear 'dead leaves' coloured bottle in Original Wood Case of 12 makes it even more classy. It looks excellent in value. WS 87. Not bad. In Vivino, it won score of not less than 3.5/5 by 75 reasonably fine tasters.
The Despagne family has been making wine at Château Tour de Mirambeau at Naujan et Postiac for over two centuries. Today the business is run by Thibault, Gabriel and Basaline Despagne and consists of five estates amounting to some 300 hectares. Not small, hence some economy of scale to bring a wine with value and performance.
