The grapes were de-stemmed to minimise phenolic extraction. The result is a delicate wine some Aged Riesling character. By now, the colour is bright lemon with gold tints from 2 years' bottle ageing.
On the nose, it is fragrant lemony fruit lift with hints of honeysuckle and ginger. Second nose of classic high tones with some complexities. Crunchy dry palate with citrussy fruit, pointing to notes of honey and jasmine, and chalky acid intensity. Softening and developing layered richness.
A JH94, this wine is with some weight by now despite its relatively standard ABV 12.5%. Still some years to go. An excellent food wine with strong Mid-palate.
