This wine gives a bright, ruby colour with brick red hues. The first nose of morello cherry, strawberries, accompanied with a floral texture of dog rose. Slightly tarred adding to the being of a Barolo, the fruit is adundant and unmasked despite 24 months of storage in tonneaux. The second nose gives tones of forest floor and truffles-balanced by some developing tertiary note. Not bad at all, not only as an entry-level Barolo. Afterall, vintage 2014 is not bad.
Dry and smacky on first attempt on the palate, it is developing into an excellent rib with sweet tannins and sensations of tobacco, peppery and musky notes. 14% ABV is classically, but you don't feel it. Overall, it is quite a modern and full-flavoured Barolo made in the international style, as shown by its winemaking( stainless steel fermentation four months, pump over daily and lightly) and stored for the relatively higher temperature at 16C before it sold. The new label started in 2014.
The vineyard is on 350 to 400 metres on Novello. Soil Is diverse.
The Giribaldi family has its roots in Rodello, in the heart of the territory that crossed, leaving the Langhe and reaching Monferrato. Giribaldi's is still today a strictly family-run winery. Not more than ten people who were the stars of one of the first conversions to certified organic in Piedmont, in 2004.
Scores not bad. JS 92 points, who writes, "This is an exciting wine that shows lots of forest floor and mushroom character with hints of red fruits. Full body, round and soft tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Gorgeous now but better in 2022".
