Kistler Vineyard Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2012

Classy and elegant Pinot Noir. Soft-texture and generous. Mouthfull of rose petals and violets. Ripe, layered, rich, fresh red fruits(cherries and strawberries). Mints. Silky tannins. Excellent ringer wine to comparable Burgundy Crus. Tasty.

Leading scores are:

96 points Antonio Galloni

The 2012 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard is a model of understatement and class. Sweet red berries, mint, rose petals and licorice all waft from the glass in a subtle, impeccably perfumed wine laced with tons of class. Silky tannins support the gracious, perfumed finish. The flavors are wonderfully alive and pulsating in this striking Pinot Noir from Steve Kistler.- February 2014

92 points Wine Spectator

Offers fresh, juicy, snappy raspberry and wild berry flavors, shaded by spice and wilted rose. The delicate, minerally finish shows understated elegance. Drink now through 2021. (9/2015)

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2012 Pinot Noirs display much less extraction, tannin and body than vintages from 10 or 12 years ago reveal. The 2012 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard, which comes primarily from the Calera clone, has oodles of strawberries and floral blueberries in a soft, round, medium-bodied style. Pure, pretty and elegant, this is a Pinot Noir to drink over the next 5-6 years. (RP) (1/2015)
