Chateau Bernadotte 2008

Dark, inky nose. Mixed black (blackcurant and plums) and red fruit (wild strawberries), with certain greenness from the Cabernets. Right amount of Tertiary tones (meat and spice). Textured palate, with firm tannin and nice acidities. Finish not long, but adequate as a food wine. Slight decanting will bring out its best. Excellent value for now. A high quality wine for slurping. Parker likes it too.

Smoky and toasty notes frame black cherry, plum and tobacco flavors in this bold, firm red, which is well-structured, straightforward and transparent, with a spicy, floral finish… – WS

Love the freshness and vibrancy in this fairly simple, well-made Haut-Medoc red. Firm tannins, hint of green pepper on the palate along with cassis and spices. Enjoy fairly young. Tasted in: Bordeaux, France. Maturity: Drink.

Jeannie Cho-lee gives relative high score this time for a humble wine like this.
