2016 EP Château Belle-Vue (Haut-Médoc)

Bright, deep ruby; tight pink rim with purple accents, this wine is massive, dense, mouth filling, long, spicy, crisp with tones of violets and lavender.

Why you should buy this wine?

First, it is not easy to find big Haut Medoc with complexity (sur lie; 40% new oak; oak fermentation; 14 month ageing).

Second, this wine is not cheap to produce, and is very, very easy to drink even at EP 2016 tasting(Debudding, deleafing, crop-thinning and hand harvesting; fruit is table-sorted and, after a 20-day cold soak at 5 degrees Celsius; the wine is fermented in stainless steel vats with a long, 45-day maceration with frequent, gravity-driven, delestages so fruit is fresh and tannins soft).

Third, it shows shades from the Margaux appellations (elegance and power; flowers), as indeed It is next to Giscour (by a ditch wide).

Finally, very special as made from 100% petit Verdot.
