Three wines from Gotham Wines, Langhorne Creek
Wine Men of Gotham’s husband and wife team Bruce Clugston and Fiona White don’t really send these wines in for scores as these are fun drinking wines not to be taken too seriously. But then we thought of the dark, rich, complex and mysterious City of Gotham........
The refreshing and edge-cutting Wine Men of Gotham Chardonnay 2016(not old chardonnays!) has full spectrum of stone fruit and shades of floral tones. DD88. Coolish 12.5% ABV.
The medium bodied Wine Men of Gotham Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 expresses classic, ripe cassis and plum fruits, with tones of cigar box and chocolate. Decent length. DD87. 14.5% ABV.
Wine Men of Gotham Shiraz 2015 gives fresh tones of blueberries, white prepper and spices, and should keep the lovers for fuller bodied reds coming back again and again. It has traits of cool, maritime McLaren Vale elegance too. DD88. At 14.5% ABV you won't feel the heat though.
We see the super value quality; but we don’t get why at this ridiculous price! Surely Gotham Wines is a negoce, hence they will give some price advantage as they will have some economies of scale. No scores! That is in this case a good thing!
