Dark ruby, tight rim. Broody, dense black fruits on the nose reflect the same on the palate, which is with even more fruit power a depth. There is the excellent structure with the ripe tannins ensuring richness on the finish. Remains St Julien with a smooth(fine tannins) and suave(lemon tones) finish, and is poised and silkily intense in the finish. Bodied.
Some tasters may think this 2010 Haut Batailley is still stubborn on the palate. Full decanting for over one hour helps much to appreciate the potential of this under-rated Pauilac.
