Chateau La Tour de By 1996, Medoc

Nose of cedarwood and black currants as highlights. On the palate a balanced and nicely softened wine, but it still has quite some nuances, power and ageing ability. Very nice texture. Smooth. Most tasters will see this wine over the top, with some fruit left, melted tannins and a medium finish.

Chateau La Tour de By 1996 has become a rare, old claret. From a reputable cru bourgeois with stable qualities.

A long-term promotion item in my merchant days.

My wine friends did not rank it high. The best so far is a CellarTracker 87.
