Neo 2010, Ribera del Duero

Like 2005 and Neo 2011 we tasted before, Neo 2010 s as good as Alion and even Valbuena 5, both from Ribera del Duero. Also, 2010 is a perfect year, according to Wines From Spain.

Scores are impressive, for example RP93. Neo 2010 need one hour to open up to form a pure Tempranillo reflecting extending ageing of 20 months in 90% French Oak 10% American oak. There is a delicate balance between fruit, spices and oak-related, smoky aromas. The first nose shows wood and earth tones, hint of chocolate and the second prunes, cherries, coffee and tobacco and teritary tones. Stuffed mouth feels with spcies. The right balance of fruit and tertiary notes; tannins are nicely integrated by now; also a sweet warm aftertaste.
