Shirvington Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Ripe and lively, this pulses with blueberry, black and red currant fruit that's nicely framed with melt tannins and enough acidity to keep it fresh despite its over 10 years of life in bottles. Thanks to the structure from Cabernet. On the palate, elements of aniseed and cedar oak merged with ripe raspberries, liquorice, forming a medium-bodied(surprisingly easy), with a generous, savoury core. This fresh and vibrant wine is well-crafted and incredibly attractive in its youth. Consistent rating, the 95 points from Parker(WA)being the most outstanding.

RP95. "A gorgeous effort, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon screams blueberries, creme de cassis, licorice, cedar, and spice box. The oak component cannot stand up to the lavish, extravagant amounts of fruit and glycerin. This intense, full-bodied, surprisingly pure and elegant Cabernet should last at least a decade."
