Garnet, medium rim. Cherry-fruited, the straightforward and fruit-driven of riper styled 2013 Crianza is a classical Ribera del Duero, which is clean, modern and with nicely integrated oak. ABV is 14.5%. Lurking behind are aromas of underbrush and a spicy background, with hints of beautiful wood, cedar, balsam, coffee and liquorice .100% pure Tempranillo aged in French oak. In the mouth, the power and balance of Ribera del Duero appear together with pleasant, tamed, well-rounded tannins. A medium palate, which is natural. With a broad aftertaste, the new Aster Crianza vintage has become rounded in the bottle with over 6 years of ageing. Ageing according to traditional Crianza method of 3 years bottle and oak ageing. Score is high, including Tim Atkins 94 and Guia Penin 91.
