Chateau Lamothe Guignard 1995, Sauternes (Grand Cru Classé)
Clear, deep amber; almost like Cognac-like. A clean nose. Very intense. Honey, apricot, yellow floral, nutty; sweet. Right alcohol and amount of mineral on the palate, medium palate with an apricot and tangerine skin finish. It finishes with tastes of dry figw, apricots, honey, wax, hazelnut, sherry, and the pallet back it up. The wine ends in some acidity still, and a subtle fruit- sweetness. It's a well-balanced sauternes. Bodied wine. Long length. Cru standard. This standard, this price- a steal.
