MONASTERIO DE LAS VIÑAS, OLD VINE SPECIAL SELECTION 2016
Deep-rubied with a medium rim, it gives an attractive twist from fruit(raspberries and prunes), secondary note(tobacco, dark chocolate) and tertiary elements(spice, leather). Tannins are firm and tamed. There is a hot finish which is fine considering the riper fruit from the vintage 2016, varietal and terroir. This wine is named Special because it is from a unique selection of 100% Garnacha with its finished wine for
four months in French oak. Old Vines here means grape selection from small parcels of 40+-year-old vines, handpicked from the many diverse terroirs in Grandes Vinos portfolio of vineyards. Head-pruned old vines reflected some complexities. Medium-bodied. Easy to drink.
