Il Pareto, Tenuta di Nozzole 2013 , Super Tuscan

Il Pareto from di Nozzole, to us, is as good as Felsina(Masetro Raro), Isole e Olena(Collezione de Marchi), Castello di Rampolla(La Vigna di Alceo)and Sassicaia. Indeed it is.

Awarded JS94 points, Il Pareto 2013 is described "Loads of blackcurrants and berries with hints of mint. Full body, very firm and cool tannins. This is racy and long. A beautiful, pure cabernet sauvignon.” With four years bottle age, it has developed the claret tones of lead pencil, dark chocolate, toast, sweet spices.

Il Pareto was first produced in 1987. At 350 meters in elevation(hence the structure), the 10-acre Il Pareto vineyard has clay soil with lime, gravel-size stones and Galestro rocks(therefore the ripeness, power and intensity).

The Cabernet Sauvignon for Il Pareto 2013 is manually harvested, destemmed and crushed before fermentation and malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks(so much unmasked dark fruit).

Maceration on the lees promotes the extraction of optimal colour and classy tannins(therefore the texture and complexity).

Aged for 16 months in French oak (part new part old, hence the claret tones) and six months in bottle before release.
