2017, Wine Future, Clos Haut Peyraguey

This 2017 Clos Haut Peyraguey is a full and productive wine that is also stylish and balanced. It has acidity, layers of spice and ripe botrytis fruit. It is a robust blockbuster wine that will need time, so drink ten years from now and keep for a long, long time. Composition is 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. A classic Sauternes.

We have nothing to add, except that it is full and rich and stylishly balanced. Impressive botrytis; tropical, stone fruit, warmer fruit and minty; a host of nose and taste (from citrus to tangerine); bright acidity. Complex, rich, almost dangerous(!), with significant hints of wood. Even better received than its 2016 vintage by international critics. Same dry finish!

Why is this wine worth buying?

  1. Made by Bernard Magrez, owner of a host of vineyards, makes good wines, and there is good economies of scale attainable

  2. Well commented by all tasters you name them.

  3. Long life

  4. Dirt Cheap.
