Chateau Plaisance 2006, Bordeaux Superieur

Mature, deep garnet colour; medium rim. Dry tones of red currant, blackberry and wild berry fruit shaded by toasty, mocha-laced oak. Twirl this wine to reveal all its scents of fruit and spices because it would tend to remain too discreet(mere ABV13%; pure red fruit; masked spices). After a fast attack, the rounded tannins, after all these years, assert themselves still with vivacity and fill the mouth with texture and structure. A return to terroir with on its medium finish. Merlot-based(80%), with Cabernet Franc 10% and Cabernet Sauvignon 10% of old vines.

Scores well with 87 Points, Wine Enthusiast, who writes,

" A firm, dry textured wine, with tannins that are now losing more fruity character. It needs at least an hour in a decanter to show its more balanced nature. Ready to drink."
