Fruit forward and soft style with notes of cherry, root-beer, this wine gives some nice-to-have complexities like ink, nutmeg, white pepper, cloves, chocolate and earthy tones classic to warm climate Aussie Shiraz and Cabernet . Medium bodied(with 14.5% balanced by lifted acidities) with adequate length; this is cute little Penfolds what won't break your bank.

This wine is named for former Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert, who from 1948 to 1975 was instrumental in developing the winery's great reputation. This deep magenta-hued blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon starts with a nose of blackberry and powdered earth.
