Penfolds Max's Shiraz Cabernet 2015

Deep ruby(Magenta intensity), tight pink rim. The best part of to us is the finely chiselled tannin and structure(alcohol and acidities). Fruit forward and soft style with notes of cherry, root-beer, this wine gives some nice-to-have complexities like ink, nutmeg, white pepper, cloves, chocolate and earthy tones classic to warm climate Aussie Shiraz and Cabernet . Medium bodied(with 14.5% balanced by lifted acidities) with adequate length; this is cute little Penfolds what won't break your bank.

Dan Murphy and mrechants et al.writes about Penfolds Max's Shiraz as follows: It (sic.) is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker, Max Schubert, a legend in Penfolds history. His constant pursuit of excellence paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps, growing the brand's status and heritage in the process. Fruit-driven and generous in flavour, this fine red has a contemporary, persistent palate with subtle tannins leading to a soft, oak finish.

It is a JH93. Critical Acclaim also includes TP93, which say:

This wine is named for former Penfolds winemaker Max Schubert, who from 1948 to 1975 was instrumental in developing the winery's great reputation. This deep magenta-hued blend of 70% Shiraz and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon starts with a nose of blackberry and powdered earth. White pepper graces inky espresso structure, inching its way through bold notes of plum and beetroot. Violets chime in mid-palate, while a meaty grilled sensation is spiced to the "max" on the finish.
