Les Grands Cailloux, Cote du Rhone Red 2005
Medium ruby with garnet and mahogany tones. It is fragrant and gives scents of age wood, soil and mushroom. On the palate, it is dense with dry raisins and prunes. There is not much fruit sweetness; the medium finish is surprisingly dry and tannic. On the whole, it is mellow and smooth after 12 years of ageing. Nostalgic yet still cohesive.
