2014 Brunelli Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico, DOCG

Ten thousand bottles made of 65% Corvina Veronese, 25% Rondinella and 10% Corvinone grapes. 2014 is a lighter vintage and reflects the correct varietal and terroir characters on colour, nose and palate. The score is reasonable, like RP91.

While this 2014 Brunelli Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico, DOCG displays an intense ruby red colour and, on the nose, sweet fruity notes – redcurrants, blueberries and cherries – as well as a characteristic hint of vanilla, it is elegant on the palate. Its soft, warming sensations balanced by good acidity and excellent, gratifying tannins, can be enjoyed on its own, but also perfect with grilled red meats, goulash, game or mature cheeses.

Quite some people are selling the 2012 and 2013 vintages. But the 2014 adds to a graceful light being, which tastes friendly and easier.

Anticipated maturity: 2014-2025
