Chateau Camensac 2009
So many people wrote about Camensac 2009, but we think this note by Stephen Brooks probably reflects the best in our tasting. 'Lush black cherry and cassis nose, opulent fruit, but lifted too. Rich, supple, forward, a touch soft though has some acidic bite. It's fresh and stylish but doesn't have much depth or staying power, and lacks some concentration. Quite long. ' By now, the bottle is approachable, still with a lot of bite and texture.
Tasters compared Camensac with Cantermerle, but we believe Camensac is always the more prominent and bolder; 55% Cabernet 45% Merlot; ABV is 13.5% and feels more.
The score is excellent, such as 92-94 points Wine Enthusiast, which says,
" Barrel sample. Big, ripe, juicy wine, the tannins very solid and dark. It has layers of new wood, power and considerable density." (RV) (8/2010)
