Kaiken Ultra Mendoza Malbec 2012

Kaiken Ultra Mendoza Malbec 2012 is very easy to sell. Rightly put by by famous fellow Canadian wine and food commentator Natalie McLean(of Canadian Wine Writers' Circle),Kaiken Ultra Mendoza Malbec 2012 is a big, dark-fruited Argentine red wine. Aromas of blackberries and fleshy black plums. Supple and delicious. Finishes with dark spice and woodsmoke. Kaiken Ulta Mendoxa Malbec 2012 is a well made wine benefitted from Viña Montes’ wine-making team. Aged in French oak, this concentrated Malbec possesses a pleasing freshness and coated tannins, along with a mouth filled with accents of licorice, vanilla, plum and violet.

Winemaker Aurelio Montes Baseden says this 'Ultra' Malbec stands out for intensity and ageability. Classic and powerful nose. The palate is well rounded with smooth, elegant tannins complemented by a well-balanced acidity. Lively, with a pleasing finish recalling black fruits, vanilla, and tobacco. Second excellent ratings: JS 94, with tasting notes from Suckling, commending the intense aromas of ripe berry, sandalwood and dark chocolate follow through to a full body, with super integrated tannins and a blueberry and light vanilla character. We also thought this Kaihen Malbec 2012 is rightly named ‘Ultra’. Really serious stuff. Very structured and fine. No need for steaks or gourmet bergers to go with. It drinks well alone.
