Le Clocher du Prieure 2008, Haut Medoc 13%

Facebook - Untitled

Bright, ruby red with tight rim. Red and dark fruits(strawberries, currants) clothed by white/dark chocolate and methol tones. Creamy, soft on palate and easy to drink, this would have been an even better Haut Medoc with Margaux personality, should a higher tannic structure and sustaining acidity sustained this wine through. 70% Merlot , 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Use of majority new oak.

The vineyard of Le Clocher du Prieuré adjoins parcels of Prieuré- Lichine in the communes of Cantenac and Arsac . This vineyard planted in 1981 has now reached full maturity and produces a wine with pleasant tannins and giving it a softer than his older Margaux character.
