Chateau Vieux Robin 2000, Bois de Lunier

We have been selling this wine for over 10 years. One major deal is a leading authentic Fench restaurant in Wanchai(still in operation) for over 100 cases. And these are the rare cases kept for our own consumption.

Chateau Vieux Robin is located on the famous Médoc peninsula, about sixty kilometers from Bordeaux. The communal land stretches from east to west from the estuary. There is a wide variety of soils according to different geological outcrops: serious and coarse sands Riss to Wurm, argillaceous limestone and marl carbonated clays, hard limestone called "Bégadan." Therefore, and according to their geological strata, raw Bégadan offer a very wide range of soil types, hence the complex aftertaste for the class.Consists of land located on the west side of the gravel bank of the Gironde, and other placed on the outcrop of clay and limestone plateau, the Château Vieux Robin has a great balance of power and finesse that gives it the blend of grapes from its various terroirs.

This wine has good depth of blackcurrant fruit, greenness to soften out, but quite classy.

Floral nose with leathery tones, palate is ripe with fine, melted tannins. Well balanced with long and quite complex aftertaste. Nice developement in glass.

The scores are like RP88, DD90, Decanter 4-Star, Cru Bourgeois Superieur.
