Nozzole Le Bruniche Chardonnay 2015

Light gold with medium rim, showing some maturity. Light, crisp and fruity(citrus, apple) nose, with lots of old World manifestation, which is simple, clean, beautifully mineral and textured. Banana notes on the palate, with a medium-full body and excellent acidity. Not an ordinary stone-fruited, buttery-scotched, creamy Chardonnay, this is delicious ringer from a high quality vintage for wine blind tasting. 772 Vivino Tasters voted 3.6 out of 5. Quite a good score for a good wine which is dirt cheap.

Located north of the village of Greve(prestigeous!!) in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the Nozzole estate covers a fascinating, rugged, mountainous area of about 1,000 acres, a third of which is vines and olive groves. The finest Chardonnay grapes are selected from the Nozzole estate’s 222 acres of vineyards at 984 feet in elevation' hence the light being and acidity. Yields are kept low, hence lots of intensity from this little Chardonnay. The vines for Le Bruniche grow on one of the estate’s highest hillsides, where excellent sun exposure and limestone and marl soils help to maintain an optimal ground temperature, hence the fruit ripeness banana notes on the palate, with a medium-full body and excellent acidity on the palate. Le Bruniche grapes gently pressed and the juice cold settled, therefore the quality fruit. The must ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature and stays on the lees for about three months, hence the texture. Malolactic fermentation is in stainless steel tanks and the wine is aged at least two months in bottle before release, with no oak contact.

Critical Acclaim JS90James Suckling A white with sliced cooked apple and nutmeg character. Hints of white pepper. Medium body, good fruit and a savory finish. Always good value.
