Chris Ringland CR Barossa Shiraz 2013
The CR Barossa Shiraz 2013 goes beyond the epitome of Barossa Valley Shiraz profile, that of blackberry, sweet, dark plum, jammy notes clothed by black peppery spice, chocolate and subtle vanilla. It feels the fresh, elegance, good taste, structure, and finishing medium, sweet scents of red berries and cherries, herbaceous with a touch of Sangiovese. Though not particularly “complex, concentrated" portrayed by Drinks Business, it indeed is a memorable one which we all like. Not to everyone's taste. And those who love their shiraz smooth would do well to look elsewhere.
It is a WS91 and acclaimed within Australia. This Cr 2013 is an entry-level wine and can stand up to challenges of its seniors and equals.
This is a bottle of wine to keep but is drinking approachable now writes Chris Ringland.
