Dourthe Grand Terroirs 2016

Updated: Jun 2, 2022

Deep ruby tight rim. A ripe and dense mixed fruit(Cherries and black plums and mulberries) with slight tones of cola, herbs and spices. Spectrumed nose for the class. The palate is densely dry with firm tannins- slightly extracted- with less fruit than the nose. Medium-bodied. This Grand Terroirs 2016 from Dourthe is a generic wine with value. If you are interested in older generics, this wine still gives what they are supposed to. As we learnt better how to drink it well, we update it to 91 Points for the current appreication.

Dourthe owns several leading chateaux throughout Bordeaux, including the Bordeaux Superieur, Chateau Pey La Tour, Classed Growth Ch. Belgrave, and La Garde in Pessac-Léognan. They are also involved in ventures in Argentina (Clos de los Siete) and in Languedoc (Ch. de Serame).
