Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva 2016
Medium ruby colour with bright cherry tones. Some mileage, maybe two years? Immediate, small cherry fruit with spicy, balsamic aromas of reasonable complexity. The second nose of ripe dark berries and light toasted nuances. On the palate, bright red fruit with good structure and rounded, elegant tannins. The finish is long enough, with a slight reminder of the fine oak well-blended. Modern. A delightful drink even at St Stephen's Bay, Stanley. RP90, DD91.
We got the wine from Wellcome, around $180. 16 October 2021.
