2008 Duhart-Milon, Pauillac



Dark ruby; tight rim. Perhaps we are so familiar with the style we need not write in detail. Suffice to add that, fruit-wise, there is an exciting development from soft red fruit to full cassis. Spices turn tobacco, liquorice, aged meat and old leather—quite a spectrum. Full-bodied with 13% ABV. Consistent- the nose reflects the palate. The structure is firm; wine is well made. Tannic, powerful with good density. Precise, fairly full-bodied finish. Extended wood ageing can age further with 73% Cabernet Sauvignon 27% Merlot. Classic Pauillac; 4th Growth. Some enthusiasts expressed it was lightish, on several tasting occasions.


The wine used to be expensive for obvious reasons, in Hong Kong and in China. This may be the right time to
