Everyday Bordeaux Wines, 2015 En Primeurs(Part 2)

This is another reasonably good, to-style POMEROL with great cost performance. CH. LA CROIX DU CASSE 2015, JS 93-94, WE 88-91, René Gabriel 17/20, Jancis Robinson 16.5. This is a relatively unknown for Hong Kong consumers. It has been represented by a world-wide group. The lack of name is not because of the lack of quality, but rather for the lack of popular international demand. JS write, "This has a very beautiful core of fruit with velvety tannins. Walnut, spice and milk chocolate. Full body, round tannins. Clean and lovely. Almost pure merlot. 93-94"

Great performance and efforts from the team of Bernard Magrez at Fombrauge and slightly cheaper than 2010, we think ST EMILION GRAND CRU CLASSE - CHATEAU FOMBRAUGE 2015 is one of the best-buy as well. Given the quality and price, this wine is worthy as an investment. Scores are as great: JS 94-95, WS 89-92, René Gabriel 18/20, Jancis Robinson 16.5. We thought of the highly prized 2010 vintage; we believe this is the wine to grab.

A discreet but great performer from MARGAUX belonging to the same family MIAILHE for over 150 years, this is probably produced their finest vintage ever is the MARGAUX - CHATEAU SIRAN 2015. Scores are high: JS 94-95, WS 90-93, WE 92-94, René Gabriel 17/20. We tasted 1997 Magnum recently and confirm that Siran can age as good as any other Bordeaux Cru from Margaux.

Tasting Team also recalls 2 fruity and smart Estephes of modern style and high cost-performance, which are SAINT ESTEPHE - CH. LILIAN LADOUYS 2015, JS 89-90, JR 16 and SAINT ESTEPHE - CH. TOUR DE PEZ 2015, JS 89-90, JR 16.

Released today is also the Sauternes Chateau Guiaud which tastes almost as good as d’Yquem. This is very affordable so we list together with in this Part 2. Located on the same plateau of d’Yquem, this Bio/Organic 1er Cru of Sauternes is on a highly qualitative roll for the past decade thanks to the great care of Xavier Planty. All wine critics unanimously rewarded GUIRAUD with great scores again this year, and it tastes wondrous. SAUTERNES 1er CRU - CHATEAU GUIRAUD 2015 is of high score: JS 96-97, WS 93-96, WE 94-96, René Gabriel 20/20.
