MOULIS Château Poujeaux 2015, JS 92-93, WS 88-91, NM 90-92,DECANTER 90. All decent scores, decent prices. Better vintages 2009 & 2010 for Chateau Poujeaux are totally sold out in Bordeaux except patches still hold by some merchants. Market price is at 27-30 €. Given the rate of increment over 5 years, Chateau Poujeaux can be a decent investment as well.Back to the Hong Kong Market, very few stock exists for back vitnages of chateau Poujeaux.
Another gem Tasting Team have investigated and worked in details is from the talented Thierry Valette, in Castillon neighboring St Emilion, BIO/Organic - CLOS PUY ARNAUD 2015- remains a sleeper of the vintage in the great years like 2009 2010, and now 2015 but also an overachiever in other difficult vintages like 2008. CASTILLON COTES DE BORDEAUX - BIO/ORGANIC Clos Puy Arnaud 2015, DECANTER 90, JR 16/20, in our view this is slightly more expensive given the Cotes origin and comparing to compatriots wines. If you like this wine, this will be forever.
All-time best seller in Hong Kong regardless of vintage is HAUT MEDOC Château Cantemerle 2015, with impressive scores like JS 95-96, WE 92-94, and eRobertParker 90-92. This is Chateau Cantemerle best score ever!!! Should buy this wine, not only for the best but for its value and super performance. This wine has got a richness and silkiness that most people like. A case or 2 is almost a must for those who concern about cot performance, being a cru at least, and easiness to drink and faster maturity. Rightly put by Neal Martin, "This is a very fine Cantemerle exuding joie-de-vivre that I can see doling out plenty of drinking pleasure over the next decade and beyond."– Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate. Tasting Team thinks that Cantemerle has always been a favourite of ours and we're not alone. This great value Grand Cru Classé is always one of the best buys in a given vintage and is known for it's remarkable style.
The other one Tasting Team likes very well is the creamy HAUT MEDOC Château Citran 2015. We believe this is one of the best Cru Bourgeois still regardless of the competition and new wines. Really the relatively medium scores like JS 88-89, WE 89-91. eRobertParker 89-91 points to the critics’ preferences for certain stylistics and in our view nothing concern about the quality to which we highly regard and admire.
SAINT ESTEPHE – JM CAZES Château Ormes de Pez 2015, eRobertParker 87-89, DECANTER 90 is a little gem. Very smart and modern. Really a nice quaffing wine from JM Cazes.
A rising star from the right bank, CH. DE PRESSAC was recently Classified and is located next to FAUGERES, VALANDRAUD & FLEUR CARDINALE and located on a the same great terroir St Emilion Grand Cru Classé CH. DE PRESSAC 2015, JS 93-94, WS 87-90, GALLONI 91-94. This wine can last for centuries. De Pressac 1964 is tasted 5 years ago. The fruit is still vivid. So as Galloni rightly put, « Château de Pressac 2015 : 91-94/100 : The 2015 de Pressac is fabulous. Rich, powerful and explosive, the 2015 possesses remarkable depth and creaminess all the way through to the finish. Red cherry jam, mocha, raspberry, espresso and spices open up in the glass, but it is the wine’s overall balance that is most impressive of all. The blend is 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Malbec and 5% Carmenère. This is a jewel of a wine. Readers should expect an intense, exuberant Saint-Emilion. Tasted three times”. We would recommend this wine without hesitation, if you are wine purist and do not concern if this is a cru from the Left Bank or not.
Also St Emilion Grand Cru Classé CH FAUGERES 2015, JS 93-94, WS 92-95,GALLONI 91-94, WE 93-95, 92-95 WS. This one tastes great. WINESPECTATOR writes, ‘ this wine Offers intense fruit, with plum, currant and raspberry flavors laced with mouthwatering anise and singed is on notes. Very rich, yet has cut and a lovely licorice snap edge that keeps the fruit pumping along. "
Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux CAP DE FAUGERES 2015, a JS 92-93, is of excellent value. JAMES SUCKLING: " Refined and very pretty with blue fruit and dried berry. Full and tight. Cool fruit." Tasting Team thinks this is the Real bargain within the smaller Right Bank group .
