The 2011 Neo Sentido

The 2011 Sentido is pure Tempranillo showing aromas of ripe black cherries and blackberries, hinting the heat of the vintage. It finishes with an interesting note of hay and straw. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with ample tannins and an oak-driven, slightly drying and warm ending. Adequate acidities.

Awarded RP90, this Crianza wiht 14% ABV is from vintage 2011 voted one of the best years(RP96E, WS91). It is considered worthy to hold. While the 2011 Sentido is still young, it is elegant, modern and of excellent value, it is not monstrous to drink.

Wine tasters tend to compare wines from Ribera del Duero to wines from Rioja these days. This is particularly so, with the emergence of Alion, Pingus, Vega Sicilia. To us Riberia del Duero is balanced; Brettanomyces is less widespread; young wines are fresher and fruitier; prices are lower than in pre-2008; oak is less prominent and more integrated.
