Ripe black fruit nose, liquorice and underlined by subtle oak. Succulent and flamboyant, on the palate, the attack is silky for a luxurious and refined material, with melted tannins by now. A modern St Emilion Grand Cru, it has lots of ostentations of fine wine of high pedigree.

2001 for St Emilion is a vintage of excellent value.
Some 15% of Cabernet Franc and 80% Merlot. The vines have an average age of 30 years, and they cover about 5 hectares on the clay-limestone plateau.
Classic vinification, after mechanical harvesting and sorting in the winery: stainless steel fermentation, ageing in French oak(1/3 new oak).
