2017, Wine Futures, Chateau Foureaud

Deep ruby with garnet tone, this wine gives tight rim. Ripe black fruit; suppressed nose. Very woody, graphite, wood spice. Restrained; some elegance (from gravel over limestone subsoil) and complexity (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot; used oak). On the palate, much black fruit; hard tannins; cedar and vanillin. A classic young Bordeaux to keep. Very good. ABV 13.5%.

Having tasted vintages in the 1990s and 2000’s, 2015, 2016, we are confident that 2017 would seem rough in the first years and will give some nice drinking three years down the road. This wine is for medium-term storage.
