Henry's Drive Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
Deep ruby with a tight garnet rim. Some bottle age shown. The bouquet has turned more to reflections from terroir(minerals and licorice) as much as varietals(blackcurrants, plums) and nurture(leather, saddle wood, herbs). There is still certain liveliness.
On the palate, there are ripe and smooth tannins. Length is medium. Fruit is fading not still adequate if you can compromise. Still fine.
From the excellent 2002 vintage, this delightful red wine scores 92/100 Parker points, who says “The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon is a sexy, hedonistic, dark plum/purple-hued effort displaying a rich, sumptuous bouquet of cedar wood, liquorice, new saddle leather, dried herbs, and creme de cassis. May well be Australias version of a hedonistic vintage of Lynch Bages that includes a Rhone Valley herbes de Provence note. Seductive, fleshy, and succulent, it should enjoy this wine over the next 5-7 years.” Drink now.
