Masut da Rive Pinot Grigio 2016

Light gold with green hints. The first nose of ripe green apples, pears, apricots precede citrus and grapefruit fruits. On the palate, soft and harmonious, with a slight oiliness. Light-bodied and racy in the first instance, offering great fresh grapefruit zest flavours layered with sequenced green apple fruit, peachy notes. Textured, it worths a 90 to 91 points.

Yes, it is a simple wine; yet the Pinot Grigio fruit is layered. Weight increased on the second nose, with some richness from the 13.5% ABV, evident in the proper sense, and resulting in a pleasant acidity and weight from lees and minerality, hence the finish is surprisingly long.

IT is a DOC by the name of Isonzo del Friuli. Making is modern, hence the style. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed and allowed to settle at 10 / 12 °C. An impression of cleanliness, despite 2 to 3 years in bottle. The wine aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks for months.
