Pertaringa Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Deep ruby with a tight rim. Expressive Cabernet fruit( blackcurrant, blackberry, liquorice, almonds) and terroir- that of some great elegance(soft Cabernet fruit, subtle) from the wetter McLaren Vale. Structured with fine tannins, a judicious oak treatment that would keep the wine balanced and intense enough and at the same time keep it straightforward. Medium-bodied; ABV at 14.5% well controlled. One of the better food wines at this price. Local specialist Sam Kim awards 90 Points- we entire agreed.

The palate is almost silky with the right fruit length (10 seconds +). Not complex, but adequate to make a good McLaren Vale Cabernet impression.

My tasters say it is a supermarket G Hardy wine and is not easy to accept by some maybe because of the image. I think so. If we tell friends this is a good enough wine, who will do this little guy a little justice? It is a good wine. Can keep for another one year or 2.
