Riesling Kunstler Kirchenstuck Trocken GG Grosse Lage 2019

Fragrant on the nose with yellow fruitiness and spice. White pepper. There is a green tint to the gold nectar. On the palate aromas of caramelized apricot and hibiscus. Rich in extracts yet harmonious, delicate with a present, sweet counterweight. Balanced and smooth, and extremely fine. Lots of mileage.
The winemakers poetically write, 'This wine is a perfect meeting of petals and stones, like plum trees blossoming on a rocky escarpment.' Of course, it is a GG(referred to as Grand Growth) from an old land. Almost fermented out to ABV12.5%, it tastes like a full-bodied white filled with great minerality. The vintage 2019 is considered a 100-point vintage(in Germany, in Rheingau).
James Suckling is so impressed to have become almost wordless that he awarded it 99 points. He wrote, “So deep, yet so subtle, this is a Rheingau masterpiece that’s as deep as a fjord. Very fine, Mirabelle note." He continues, "but there’s so much more in there that this tasting note would bust open at the seams if I wrote it all down. And then you fall into a seductive black hole at the very long, cool, and dark finish.”. Both JR and Falstaff also highly commend the wine. You just should not miss this one if you like GG level Germanic whites.
